We miss our collections, so this month we are revisiting a few favorites from the archive.
Friendship albums first became popular in the United States in the 1820s, and were especially popular among young people. This album, compiled by Margaret Williams, includes a few wonderful examples of woven hair art made from locks of hair from her closest friends. In this time of social distancing, these cherished and sentimental odes to friendship seem especially poignant.

Eiji has gained notoriety as “boner phantom” for his famously extended self-groping during “Point of No Return.” It is…something to behold. THAT SAID, this is a great cast with a lot of interesting moments and a devastating final lair, and I’m very excited to watch them again!

Non-replica Aminta costumes
I have really never found a non-replica Aminta costume I like. I think they either end up as an Esmeralda/2004 movie lookalike (2, 7, 8), they sport modern couture looks (3, 9), they do bathing suit bodices (1, 4), or they just look out of character/time/place (5, 6, 10). I’m not saying the depicted costumes aren’t good craftmanship or that they are incorrect for its role in the specific production. But… I just don’t feel them? On the other hand, I always enjoy seeing different design takes, so…

Tumblr's Top 50 Musicals
A few weeks ago, TheatreFlashbacks (@theatreflashba1) on Twitter asked his followers to rank their ten favourite musicals, and compiled the Top 100 favourite musicals in a list. I loved that idea, but was very surprised by the outcome - I'd expected very, very different results. This is why I'd like to do the same here and find out Tumblr's Top 50 Musicals!

Since every show will receive points depending on its ranking, I'll ask you to rank exactly 10 musicals, not more, not less.
It's meant to be a list of your favourite musicals, not those you consider to be the best! Make sure to include the composer/lyricist if there a two different musicals of the same name, e.g. Cinderella (R&H vs. ALW). Movie musicals without stage adaptations do not count.
